Professor Baudelaire hovered while Astrid asked her question. "Thanks for asking before doing. No, not fly over but just look around and see who needs help. The point of this practice is to see who definitely needs help, to look for those who can't fly well enough. Then you will write those students names down and you can help them then." She noticed that Cyrus was raising her hand so she said, "Any other question please raise your hand."

She flew over to Cyrus and listened to her question. "Let me go speak to the head of your house, Professor Chase." Professor Baudelaire flew over to Professor Chase who was performing a spell on the Gryffindor banner so it weighed less. She spoke to him and then returned to Cyrus. "I'm sorry Cyrus, Professor Chase says he already picked to other people but he said he will consider you if your behavior is good during practice." Her question answered she flew to the front once again.

"Ok spark-makers and banner-carriers, are you ready?" she asked.

" Thanks Professor, " I replied. I looked around, and, after asking their names, I wrote down the names who were struggling to balance, or were a little shaky. I told them that I can always help them after practice, if they were still unsure. Getting the names of whoever I could see, I returned to my position and kept the list in my pocket. I decided to give them to Professor Baudelaire after practice. I stood in my position, and waited for further instructions, keeping my eyes open for people who might need help.

Cyrus, I told Alecia she could get the names of people she could see after practice, she got the names of people around her which is fine because she wasn't moving around but you need to stay in your spot. And everyone is in the air...not walking.

"Ronnie, yes you will proceed to cleaning the stands then. I said we would have no rule breakers today. May I have your wand and broom please? Then you can walk to the stands and begin scrubbing. Mr Filch will be there if you need any help." said Professor Baudelaire strictly.

Then Professor Baudelaire said to the rest, "Everyone please fly forward about 10 feet on the count of three. Ready? 1, 2, 3."
She waited to see the result.

Professor Baudelaire told us to fly 10 feet forward. I gulped, and hoped it would be okay. I moved forward as soon as the person in front of me had, and looked about. The people I had taken names of were panicking, and were completely confused. There was bumping and arguing, as people slammed into each other. I scribbled down the names of whoever would need help afterwards. This was going to take tremendous work.

This was going to be difficult. The students weren't very coordinated and plenty of them had bumped into others and the sort. "Let's try again" said Professor Baudelaire. "Go back to your previous position and we will start on the count of three once again. Ready?" she asked. Many students looked nervous..."One, two, three."

Raban moved into place with Brigit and gave the Professor a nod. He hoped Brigit had the spell down all right; it was fairly simple, but being jostled mid-flight could affect the wrist movements.

I flew next to Astrid feeling tired, today was going to be a long day. I was watching the people who's names she wrote down, " Hey Astrid" I said as I pointed to a student who was purposely pushing another studet.

" Got it, thanks, " I smiled at Ivy, " you should head to your spot before Professor Baudelaire notices, or you'll get in trouble, " I warned her. Professor Baudelaire told us to go back to our original spots and try again. I moved back as soon as the person behind me had moved. I didn't wanna hold up the line. The girl behind me was new to flying, and had asked for a few pointers and bumped into me three times. I heard the Professor count, and we all moved forward on the count of three. It was just as worse. There were some other kids now confused, and slamming into each other. I just hoped an argument wouldn't arise. I wrote down the names of the people who had messed up on the second time, and there were definitely less, but we weren't perfect yet. I almost screamed at the girl behind me as she bumped into me again, nearly knocking me off my broom. She said a heartless reply, as if she had done it on purpose. I turned back at her and gave her a cold stare. I just hoped she got the message, cause the next time I wouldn't let her go that easy.

" Oh thanks, didn't hear her." I said. I flew back to my original position and started again. I pulled out pencil and paper and wrote down a few names. A girl kept on bumping into Astrid. I hoped that Astrid could stay on her broom. The girl almost looked as if she meant to hit bump into Astrid.

Professor Baudelaire heard numerous argues, bumps, and even some screams. This wasn't working...the students were all going at different paces. She had to think of something. Something they could do...Then an idea popped into her head. She would just temporarily adjust the speeds of all the brooms. She waved so all the teachers came to her. Professor Chase knew a lot about brooms so she asked him if there was some way all the brooms could be synced together. He said their could, it was a simple spell, "Mobilis idem." The only thing they needed was a gauge to set the speed. He flew over to a broom closet and when he came back he had a small compass looking object in his hand. "It's used for practices, to slow brooms to test the players abilities." he said. They set the gauge to 5 miles per hour and then the professor connected it to his wand. "I'm going to need everyone to say the spell around the students so all the brooms are set." Professor Chase said.

"Let me just warn everyone," said Professor Baudelaire. She muttered the voice amplifying spell for what felt like the 50th time. "Students please remain still for a couple of minutes while we perform a spell on all of your brooms so they all travel slowly and at the same speed." Some students had looks of horror on their faces, she supposed they were the Quidditch players, "Don't worry it will only be temporary." They seemed a little relieved but still worrisome.

Professor Baduelaire moved to her corner and Professor Chase made a signal, "Mobilis idem!" Professor Baudelaire said steadily as she pointed her wand toward the general direction of the students. She felt an tiny shock, almost like a small electrical wave, run through the air towards the students. She was sure many of them had felt it because they had surprised looks on their faces.

"Ok, let's see if this worked. We are going to try flying forward once more. Everyone back to their positions. There? Ok, ready? 1, 2, 3."

I was really displeased, I was getting blamed for someone's other name..I should have went to pigfarts.

Professor Baudelaire seemed to come up with a solution to our newest problem. She told us they were going to put a spell on everyone's broom so they would all move at 5 mph. A look of horror crossed my face. 5 mph? That was so slow. I grimaced and waited as they cast the spell. I felt a faint shock, which caused my nerves to tingle. I almost screamed as the girl behind me lurched forward, leaving me hanging off my broom. I climbed back up, and she glared smugly at me. Professor Baudelaire seemed to be watching. I glanced at her, and looked back at that girl. I felt like attacking her, but instead I said, "Is there a problem?"
"Not at all," she responded.
"Look, I have no idea what problem you have with me, and why you keep on bumping into me. You better stop this attitude you have going on here, because I can ruin the rest of your time in Hogwarts, and 7 years is a long time. Now, either you cooperate, or you don't," I said to her, "and trust me, I never go back on my word," I finished. I looked right into her eyes once, and abruptly turned back.

Like Molly cleared out before, and I said [it's also in the rules on the front page], you have to either put your name in your post or include it in your title, if not I will not know your name and i will call you by your BGF name.

I jumped and got my broom. And away I went, ZOOOM. I went flying super high and came back super low. I touched the grass while zooming across the field, I was about to hit the bleachers..But I rose up and dodged it, and hit the air instead. This was an delight! I hope no one saw me, I mean I was a qudditch player. I could just say I was practicing, I was practicing my high and low flies. Time for work, I thought...

I looked around for anyone needing help on their broomsticks..

[OOC: Muffin, you're going to be the only one taking issue with this -- Harry explained the rule before, and I pointed it out to you myself already. Just accept that your character is in trouble and go with it. And this is a Harry Potter RP, not A Very Potter Musical RP; Pigfarts doesn't exist here.]

Raban rolled his eyes at the older girl complaining about being in trouble. Honestly, the rules were clear on the matter. He was just glad he was in the habit of casting a protective charm over his bag -- having filthy scrub-water splashing everywhere would likely leave things in a bigger mess than they were before.

He held tight to his broom, shuddering at the jolt as control was taken from him. This certainly wouldn't teach anyone anything; they'd need to learn control, or it would be little more than being dragged along in formation. At least it allowed him to focus on casting the sparks, but he suspected the others would be bored by the slow ride.

Professor Baudelaire noticed a slight commotion going on. She flew to Astrid who looked troubled. "Is there a problem Astrid?" she noticed the girl behind her who turned red, "What's going on? I don't want to see any trouble here...you know what the consequences are."

The students hadn't been prepared to start flying so she said, "Ok, all together this time. IS EVERYONE READY? Yes? Ok, grab your handles, ready? One, two, and three!"

She waited for the result.

Professor Baudelaire flew over, concerned. "No, nothing is wrong Professor," I told her. The girl didn't protest. We were ordered to move forward. I tilted frontwards, and watched my broom move forward very slowly. Everyone was moving at the same pace. I felt paralyzed not having the control of my broom. I sat, bored. This was going to take a while.

Just great, I thought.
"But professor, I was just practicing some moves for qudditch season!"

If she was going to have to clean something, she would go crazy. What she wanted last was something sent to her parents. This is really was a matter of life and death. Her mom would be furious and probably send a giant howler.

Professor demanded my broomstick and wand.

I sighed. This was horrible. I handed my broom and wand reluctantly and walked away. This was unfair, if I couldn't practice then how could I play well for qudditch? This was an outrage. I had to clean stuff, I guess I would clean them during the evening.. So no one would watch me cleaning. Maybe some house elves could help me..

Then professor flew away to Astrid. Oh boy, I thought. I walked back to Hogwarts and walked through the halls. I thought to myself, I needed a place to practice qudditch and not be disturbed. Suddenly out of nowhere, a dark door opened and room filled with equipment for qudditch.

"This is perfect!" I spoke with excitement. This is what I needed.

Raban focused on getting the sparks right. It still felt weird having his broom controlled, and he hoped it wouldn't have any lasting effects. He glanced over at Brigit; she'd made progress, but hadn't quite gotten the bronze accents down. No worries, he'd help her with it later, when they were free to work on their own.

OOC: Muffin, do you think you could read over the last few pages? AT least my posts where I announce things. I think you missed some things, like me saying that students weren't supposed to be flying, then that they could but at the same level and in formation. Also you are supposed to be cleaning the stands...during practice, not walking of into Hogwarts. Please take a few minutes to read over that and I think we will avoid future confusion.

Professor Baudelaire looked at everyone, they looked upset, but how else could she prevent some from going faster then others? It would have to do for now...until they could figure out another solution. "Ok students, we are going to try to fly a longer distance, I want to see how you well you can do. You will all fly around the field once. Is that clear on does anyone need that explained?" she asked. All of the students took up about an eight of the field, around the edge, it really was an enormous field.

"Actually! I have a better idea!" she said suddenly. She flew to the Quidditch office and came back quickly with a heavy white parchment. She started making movements on her wand and then clouds of colored smoke appeared over her head. They looked like this:

It was a diagram of the Quidditch field and it had symbols where the students were standing. She looked at everyone to see if this made a better explanation....

Raban looked around at the various students who seemed annoyed at the loss of control over their brooms.

"Professor, wouldn't it be simpler to split everyone up into groups based on their ability on a broom, then train the weaker ones up so we're all on about the same level, before trying to fly in formation? We're including first years, after all, and some of them have only had one flying lesson. If everyone's on the same level, we'd be less likely to bump into each other. The ones who are just need more training to work on their control."
