Re: Special Year Ender Contest
Back in the beginning, when I joined Bearville when it was actually Buildabearville, there was so much lag, I remember. I must admit my visits to Bearville over the 4 years I've been a member were very sporadic. I think in all those years, I only visited maybe twice for a couple days, before my final visit that resulted in my sticking around. Less lag, nowadays!

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
another thing i like about bearville this year is that they brought back the game before you can choose a den and they change they thing you keep away from too

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
That's true, there isn't as much lag as there used to be. Plus, the time it takes to load while going from place to place while online has also shortened. It used to take me forever to walk around town, whereas now it doesn't take that long. (:

The game with the bear head and the leaves/stars/etcetera? That's always fun! I wish we could earn points toward a badge every time we play it. I don't think we do, but we really should!

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
That's a great idea! Or perhaps it had a high score board, with who gets the longest time without being hit by the object wins. It would be pretty easy to get it towards the badge, since mostly everyone plays it at the beginning. (:

I earned Gold for Growth and Recreation by doing the fishing games. I love fishing. Getting the bags of Bear Bills and the pearls have really been helpful in buying the rooms for my cub condo. It feels like a real home, now!

I love fishing whenever I have time! It's a fast and simple way to earn money. I like fishing at the Lighthouse more than fishing at Paw Park because the fish at the Lighthouse usually sell for more money. c:

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
I've noticed that, too. I like both fishing places, but the sea does pay out better than the pond, you're right!

Another thing I'm very slowly working on is my Zoo Keeper medals. I treated myself to a VIB membership as an incentive to stick around Bearville, and not just abandon it after awhile, and the Zoo Keeper medals seem like fun to work on every so often.

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
I haven't visited the zoo in a long time! I always renew my membership, since it has a lot of privileges, such as the zoo. It is quite fun working there and taking care of the animals every so often. (: I'm Assistant Manager level there, I think..

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
I keep getting the same animals to care for every time. As we level up, do we get additional animals to care for, or what? I was always curious about that bit.

One thing I definately remember to a degree was getting a Welcome Pass several months after joining Bearville. I had 2 bears made before Bearville went live, and I registered them both, but I chose the wrong virtual bears. The two bears I really have are a Lil Cocoa Cub and a Velvet Teddy, but they are a Maple Teddy and Read Teddy in Bearville.

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
I'm not sure, since I seem to get the same animals almost every time. I usually get the panda, penguin, flamingo, and walrus I think.. I don't think I've ever gotten different ones..?

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
Something similar happened to me when I first joined back in '08. My first bear was a koala, and I didn't know how to register it since it wasn't activated yet (I didn't know that). To make a long story short, I ended up getting 2 koalas on my Bearville account, while I actually have only one in real life.

I like how BABW brought back the Fennec Fox[:

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
I love that Fennec Fox! I must see about getting one of those from the Build-a-Bear store sometime, it looks way too cute!

Another thing I really like is how we earn 50 BB for every video we watch on the Bearville site. If I'm low on BB, I just watch a quick video or two, and it's like magic!

I like how they improved our cybear zone

I think the most best update they had this year would be the new layout which makes it easier to get around BV!

Thanks for posting the tips for the badges! I finally got up to Silver in Art and Fashion!

Fashion only earns you a wardrobe, and since it probably just gives alternate access to the one I paid a credit for, I'm in no hurry to complete that badge. Community gets you a food cart, and while it doesn't provide any extra space if you bought the pantry, at least it has an interesting design.
It's a furniture item; sorry for the delay, I fell asleep.

I'm one of the few who actually earned all the badges in the old system -- I actually had a platinum badge for Visual Arts, or 'Pawcasso Bear'. It didn't earn me anything, except perhaps inventory space (which became a moot point when they decided everyone would only get twelve pages), but it was neat to do.

Wow, those were really difficult to earn! I never really figured out how to earn them. Congratz on finishing one of those badges!
I think the new badges are really cool, especially the ones that give you rooms for your condo.

Re: Special Year Ender Contest
I earned it by playing Friendship Forest Photo Safari a lot. By setting that goal for myself, I made a ton of BB, and I've pretty much been living off of that ever since.

Oh man, I really regret not having been as active on Bearville when I could have. But at least I have an opportunity to catch up on lost years.
