Music Terminology of the Week #15
Every week I will add a word or term commonly used in music. This will teach those who cannot read sheet music something new and we can all share our knowledge.
Arpeggio
-broken chord where the notes are played or sung in sequence
-means "in the manner of the harp" in Italian
-derived from scales
-notes all belong to one chord
-can be written with a squiggly line going from top to bottom in front of the chord
-can rise or fall for more than one octave
