Music Terminology of the Week #15 120qrzr

Every week I will add a word or term commonly used in music. This will teach those who cannot read sheet music something new and we can all share our knowledge.



Arpeggio

Music Terminology of the Week #15 61260424

-broken chord where the notes are played or sung in sequence
-means "in the manner of the harp" in Italian
-derived from scales
-notes all belong to one chord
-can be written with a squiggly line going from top to bottom in front of the chord
-can rise or fall for more than one octave
