Music Terminology of the Week #3 120qrzr

Every week I will add a word or term commonly used in music. This will teach those who cannot read sheet music something new and we can all share our knowledge.

For Week 3, we will still learn the basics.

Fermata

Music Terminology of the Week #3 Fermata2-769353

-a hold or pause
-tells you to hold the note or rest a little longer than its normal value
-indicates you should watch the director for its length or it is up to the liking of the performer
-usually found above the note to be held
-can indicate the end of a song
