Music terminology of the week #10
Every week I will add a word or term commonly used in music. This will teach those who cannot read sheet music something new and we can all share our knowledge.
Legato or slur
-To glide over (a series of notes) smoothly without a break.
-A slur is a curved line sweeping over two or more note-heads. Under the slur, notes run smoothly, duration 100%. They sound like Do Ba.
-Vocalists, brass and woodwind players wait till the end of the slur to take their breath.
