Yum, fried plantains. I believe they are a fruit, since they're a type of banana. Plantains-- Fruit or Vegetable? 465488

I looked it up, but I still don't think I got the answer. It is so weird! It says that even though plantains are considered a fruit, it is more of a starch or herb. In dishes, it is used more as a vegetable, because it is fried, cooked, and/or chopped, intead of eaten straight from the plant it came from. No I am even more confused. Is it a starch, herb, vegetable, or fruit? confused

Yes, Plantain isn't really eaten raw. It's not good at all. Plantains-- Fruit or Vegetable? Icon_razz

To avoid confusion, lets just say... It has a seed it's a fruit. Plantains-- Fruit or Vegetable? Icon_razz

I am locking this, again it's a fact not a matter of opinion so it does not need a poll.
