New Years Traditions

Do you and or your family have any new years traditions?

My husband and I normally Spend new years even in Times Square but ive decided this year i did not want to make the trip so we are going to make a new tradition of going out on the house boat with our daughter and docking under where the fireworks will be and having our own celebration!

Does your family do anythuing special?

Not really, just go shopping and that's probably it, well i hope you have fun in town sqaure Rachel!!

On new years eve my whole family comes over to my house for a huge party

we shout the countdown and go to the rose parade

we shout the countdown, eat sacks, and take a lot of pictures. (when we are just at home) OR when we go to cousin's houses we shout the countdown, play around and have a lot of fun!

We usually get with our jewish friends and do something together. Like two years in a row, we went and saw a basketball game, on new years eve. This year we are going to down town, to eat and see fireworks.

I usually watch movies. lol.
And then go out on the deck and scream, and try to see the fireworks. lol. :]

Well it depends. Sometimes we get together with some family on new years eve and count down. Something else we do is get together with family friends and celebrate. But sometimes my family just stays home and like watches TV, movies or like the new year specials and we count down! its so fun!

We always have a family gathering either in my house, godparents house, or cousin's house.. for 2009.. It will be in my house!!! YAY!!

We go shopping in the earlier part of the day, then in the evening, we have dinner with our relatives, sort of a little gathering. At night, we have a countdown and watch the fireworks!

Oh! And we celebrate my brother's birthday too in the afternoon onwards with some relatives and family.

im not sure if i am going to have a new years because something sad happend.
but anyways our tradtion is that ours cousins come over on new years eve and we eat in the dining room and then we go upstairs and do ranndom stuff, My sister and cousins went upstairs yesterday and we a a water fight my cousin. Kaya is 16 and Halit-Jon is 18
then the next day we give present to our mom and dad! and then at 12oclock we watch the ball drop!

We don't really have traditions; when my daughter was smaller; I used to go out with my cousins and we would eat and then go and play poker and bring the new year in, but it changes now from year to year. Last year I had a house full of my daughter's friends and we took them out to eat, to the movies and then we watched them dance the new year in. This year, we are going out to eat, to the movies today; because I don't want to cram it all in again and then we are going to my parents with another family and we are having a bible study and then we are playing poker. It was my idea to play poker, I used to do it all the time, but something happened in my family and we stopped, so it is time to get back on our feet!! Oh, and of course we shall have a lot of munchies and watch the ball drop!!

well i usally go to time square (i live somewhere around there)to see the ball drop but this year we decided to get together in my uncles house and celecbrate the new year with family and friends
