Butterflies in Elementary School

When you were in elementary school did your teacher let you take care of chicks, butterflies, catepillars, or ducks? :] Mine did and it was so fun! I wish I could go back!

I got to take care of mealworms.

No, but we had fish eggs that we hatched! When they were big enough, we released them into a river.

My daughter got to take care of a caterpillar that grew into a butterfly. We kept a log every day and drew pictures of the changes. Unfortunately, the butterfly fell off it's perch when the wings were still wet and they crumpled - never allowing the butterfly to fly.

my class when i was in elementary took care of crabs and a hamster but all the pets we had died on us.

I remember ages ago taking care of caterpillars that grew into a butterfly. It was fun, and really cool to see the stages of the cancun and things.

Unfortunately - it did die. We tried to help as much as we could, but it just couldn't survive without flight.

Butterflies, and silk worms.

I remember letting them go...

We had frogs. Watching them lay eggs, into tadpoles, growing and growing, and then letting them go. I was completely terrified of them.

Nope.
We had fish, and hamsters though.
When it was my turn to take care of the hamster.. er, well lets just say as soon as I got it it looked like it was gonnaa pass away. So i didnt get to take care of it. D:

In grade 1-I think- we each had our own mealworms ^^ I'm terrified of bugs and insects so I was scared to touch mine

We never had pets that went from person to person like that.

Makes me think, there was this one boy in elementary school who used to eat worms for candy during our recess.

Oh that is wonderful my teacher never did that for me Lol so that is really neat for me. I bet it was fun too.

It is pretty fun. Watching something grow each day. You can always try it your self at home.

I never has any class pet, well thats a lie we had a class pet named fred he was a flie XD

In 5th grade we had a Guinea Pig, his name was Sully
Really cute too. Also in 3rd we had Mice. But one of them bit

We took care of caterpillars and in third grade we had a class pet Hermit Crab

nope cuz in 5th grade i had the meanest teacher everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and in kindergarten ~ 4th i wuz in private school
