a Mothers Love

Its your first day,
Don't be afraid child.
I'll get you through it,
don't cry sweetheart.
I'll hold your hand,
and never let go.
Gods watching you,
so here you go.
I will cry when I get home,
knowing that my angel is grown.

Its time for 6th grade,
oh my how your big.
You worried about all the other kids.
Baby, they will love you,
but not more then I do.
You come home crying from school,
I try and tell you but you say its too cruel.
Honey.. don't cry.
I love you.

Its Highschool already,
your driving a car.
You go to parties,
and get home at dawn.
I come in your room,
to check on you,
your drinking.
You leave the house..
and I never see you.

5 years later,
you come to my door,
saying "Mom, I have a child."
I'm happy for you baby,
but who is the father..?
"He.. ran off."

We sit crying.. together.

I'm in a hospital now,
sick and not healthy.
All I ask is to see you.
You come in.. crying.
"Baby, i'll never let go."
I'm gone.
