Acrylic. It's best for manipulating, and most professionally used.

Acrylic. I've only used that and watercolor before, I think it's "tempera" paint, is it? Has anyone ever tried using oils before?

I've used oils, didn't like it much x:
I only know watercolors, so I'll just stick with that.

Acrylic. By far the best! Then I would say watercolor. Watercolor also looks good in my opinion(:

I have Bear. I didn't really like using oils though, what do you think?

I was trying to see what it looked like, then Google told me it was the spelling. Watercolor, acrylic, tempra? 1107968042 Well, I tried oils before and they're hard to use, and they're so oily! Well, that's obviously the point but like I said before they're more difficult for me to use, so acrylics win the point for me! Watercolor, acrylic, tempra? Icon_razz

I always use acrylics when I'm painting. They are so easy to use and cover large areas really well.

And cover up mistakes.

You can't correct an error with watercolor. You can to an extent with tempera.

I find oils really weird. I just can't paint with them. I love blending with watercolors. I've made the prettiest sunsets with them.

Yeah, oils take forever to dry and they're just... weird, I can't find a good word for it; but I guess maybe because I'm not "experienced" in using it before.

I like pretty much any kind of art. I don't really have a favorite. To me it is all about freedom of expression and all three are equal in beauty to me. Also it takes a lot of talent to any of them. I love paintings they seem more artistic. In watercolor paintings i love the distribution of color, how it lighter in some areas and darker in others. Did you know that tempera paintings have been found on early Egyptians sarcophagi decorations? I think is cool to find out how different types of things came to be if you can't tell yet. ;P

I wouldn't call them "kinds of art." Paint choice is a choice of tool.

A kind of art would be a genre, imo.

But that's just artist terminology. Watercolor, acrylic, tempra? Icon_razz

true I guess you could say the type of tool you use. I personally don't paint that much though. I guess you could call me old fashioned but I like pencil and paper =P

But if I was painting I think I would go with Watercolors because i have fun when I water color.

Oh, as do I. But this is about painting preferences. Watercolor, acrylic, tempra? Icon_razz I could make topics about lead softness for drawing tool preferences, lol.

I actually like the tempera paint, though it's been a while since i've last used it, but I find it easiest to use for me personally. Watercolor would probably be my second choice, though again, i haven't done it in years Watercolor, acrylic, tempra? Icon_razz
