Braces?

Hey everyone
I'm getting braces on the 25th of March and I'm kinda scared D:
So i was wondering,
Do any of you have them?

No, I do not have braces, nor am I getting them.
My mom used to have braces. She took them off a long time ago.
She said they hurt sometimes, but when she got them off, (finally (LOL) ),
her teeth were VERY straight! Like magic. I might get them someday but not now. Wow, I wish you luck on getting braces!

i already had braces before.
but its not really THAT bad, so don't be nervous
just make sure your parents stock up on applesause, yogurt, ice cream, and maybe baby food (lol) cause the first week or two, your teeth really hurt
but don't worry, cause beauty is pain, lol just kidding. but when you get them off, wow! they look awesome and straight and perfect!

I don't have braces but I think I'm going to get them in a few years

I used to have them,&&don't be scared,
it's actually not very painful while they are putting them on,
since they glue the brackets to your teeth,
don't worry it's not as bad as it sounds,
It's the after that hurts more.
Your teeth will hurt for a while,1-2 weeks.
(Mine hurt three days, I adjusted quicker.)
&& don't worrry it will all be worth it in the end,
they'll be like utter perfection!

I used to have them about 4-5 years ago lol. I don't think they were problematic at all. Just getting used to them for a few days and biting down on some foods hurt a little at first. When you get the braces off, it doesn't hurt at all. My teeth had no sensitivity.

I have braces right now.
When you're gone getting braces it doesn't hurt at all. If your braces are scratching your lip, put the wax on, or it'll cut your lip >.< (It happened to me on the first day, LOL)
The second day the braces will hurt 'cause it will be moving your teeth. -_-

Avoid anything hard or sticky (Gum, Hard Chocolate, Sour Candies).

I currently have braces, and I'm suppsed to get them off in 2 months. Ok so here's how it goes down. You have to listen to what they say, like no chewing gum, no popcorn, hard pretzels and all that stuff. The first day you get them on, they will not hurt, but then the next 1-2 weeks, they will hurt a ton. You can only eat yougurt, ice cream, pudding, applesauce, etc. Anything hard will hurt like CRAZY. Trust me, I tried and I was practically screaming from the pain Also ask your paretns to get you some pain medicine, that worked for me. Then you just have to brush really good so you don't want to get food stuck in there, ew! There's not much to it, but you have to be careful to not break any brackets and if something doesn't feel right, always tell your orthodontist so everything feels perfect for you Hope I helped! You'll look great with braces, Sam!

And my braces are clear colors, in middle school I wore different colors for the month, but now I only use clear cause it looks better for me.

Pain medicine - Like Advil (Helped me)

Usualy after each month, you need to get your braces tightened so avoid food that you can't really chew. It will hurt starting the second day, so eat food that you don't have to chew (Just swollow)

Also, any braces colour is fine. I chose silver

I did, but i got them taken off. Your teeth will look so beautifull when they are done!! (but then you have to wear a retainer) lol

In the beginning it will hurt, but you'll get use to them. XD
It's not relatively true that you can't chew gum with braces, but you have to chew SUGARFREE gum. (but you have to check with your orthodontist)
My braces are now pink XD. They use to be blue lol.
A pain medicine I use is Moltrin or Advil.

I use to have braces, but it did not go successful. My teeth are fine. It isn't like they are majorly messed up, but it was just that once they took off the braces my other baby teeth began to fall and the new permanent teeth came which made it a disaster. The denist should have specifically said that this wouldn't be a good idea, but I believe he had his own opinions so therefore I'll be getting braces again somewhere in the near future. Very good poll!

When I'm in pain, the main medicine I use is Motrin , anyways
Yesterday, the orthodontist showed me a powerpoint on what to eat and what not to. She said I can chew gum, just as long as it's not the really hard type like Dubble Bubble :3
I really wish I could eat popcorn, though
