Invalid Trade and Missing Items
Usually, it will take weeks or sometimes months before our Bear Patrol can recover your items due to investigation. With these, we have to ask for your patience. Reporting complete information helps Bear Patrol investigate your account faster.
Here are some things you don't want to forget before reporting Unfair Trades or Missing Items:
INVALID / UNFAIR TRADE
You may email our vwpatrol@buildabear.com together with these information:
Your Username:
Usermame of the person traded:
Items traded:
Number of times you have trade with that person:
Date of the transaction:
These information will be a great help to our BearPatrol, so they can easily track down your missing items.
MISSING ITEMS
Username:
Missing Item/s:
Date where seen in inventory:
Date discovered that items were missing:
Where do you usually play Build-A-Bearville? (library/home/school/etc)
IMPORTANT!
DO NOT reply to this thread with these information. Send it to vwhelp@buildabear.com. For your own security, DO NOT share your account information, especially your account password and codes with anyone!
------
These are tips on how to protect yourself from being scammed. It is best that you have read the guides completely, and perhaps remind yourself of the tips in it whenever you are playing Build-A-Bearville or other games.
What is Scamming?
Scamming is to deceive or trick another player for one's own personal gain. Deliberately lying to others about how much an item is worth and how rare the item was is considered a scam. A trade that seems too good is most likely a scam and thus you should be extra careful when you are trading. Also, lying to players to gain account information is also considered password scamming and should be reported instantly.
How will you know if you are being scammed?
*If the player is claiming an unrare item rare.
*Trust game/trade -- A trust trade is an exchange in words, PM's or emails where in the other player asks to borrow your item and will give it back after some time. Almost 90% of the time, the player will never return your item. Do not give your items away like that, especially to people you don't really know.
* Giving away free accounts
Extra Tips
* Never ever engage in trust trades
* Always check the second trade screen carefully
* Never ever give out your password or account details
* Make sure your password is complicated enough (a mixture of letters and numbers) but can be memorized.
Build-A-Bearville promotes a family friendly game environment. We must be aware of this kind of situation because it is a free-for-all-age game and we want to make sure you really are having a good time, and at same time feeling safe and secure.

Re: Invalid Trade and Missing Items
The Bear Patrol has access to records of all your actions in the game. This is where they extract information for their investigation. They will know all those involved in the trade, the items traded and where and when it took it place. But to speed up the process, it's best to give them the following information when you make a report:
Your Username:
Usermame of the person traded:
Items traded:
Number of times you have trade with that person:
Date of the transaction:
However, if you have forgotten some of these, you can still give other information that can help us investigate the account faster.
