The Life of a Dreamer Empty The Life of a Dreamer

Post by DjAngel145 Fri Apr 01, 2011 8:20 am

Hi! I'm thinking about writing a book called The Life of a Dreamer.... I haven't come up with the first chapter yet, but here's some background info about the main characters.
1.Aislyn Brennan: She's 15, her father passed away when she was 10, and ever since his death she's been having strange and vivid dreams.
2.Mr.Peterson: A science teacher at Seaside High (the high school where Aislyn goes), who oddly reminds Aislyn of her deceased father.
3.Giovanni Lopez: A 15-year-old boy in Aislyn's science class. There is something strange about him that makes Aislyn want to befriend him and learn more about him.
4.Brett Anderson: The quarterback on Seaside High's football team, who is also Aislyn's crush. He seems perfect and invincible on the outside, but is he just as perfect on the inside?
5.Mrs.Mitchell: Seaside High's principal. The students don't know very much about her.
Well... those are the main characters for now. As the book progresses, if I add a new character that will affect the book i'll add them to the list The Life of a Dreamer 465488
To be continued..... The Life of a Dreamer, Chapter 1

Well.... I wrote some of the first chapter... but I wrote it in about an hour and I don't know if it's my "best work" but here it is:
The Life of a Dreamer, Chapter 1
I was in a widespread, vast meadow. I was standing in the soft, bright green grass scattered with daises. I didn’t know how I got there, all I knew is I was looking for my father. As I quickly scanned the horizon, I spotted him. I then started to slowly make my way towards my father. As I started to get closer, I saw a strange-looking man walk towards my father. He was about 6’5 and he was wearing a very dark polo shirt and black jeans. I didn’t know who this man was, or why he was here. All I knew was, my father was in danger. I tried to run to him, but I couldn’t. My feet were stuck to the ground. I tried to scream out to my father but I couldn’t speak either. As the man finally got behind my father, I heard a loud beeping noise. I then awoke from my nightmare; my heart beating rapidly.
As I abruptly sat up, I glared angrily at the small, metallic alarm clock on my dresser. According to the small red numbers on my alarm clock, it was 8:15 a.m. Wait, 8:15! I had my alarm clock set for 8:00! I must have hit the snooze button. I hurriedly took a shower, got dressed, brushed my teeth, ate breakfast and as I ran out my front door it was 8:25 a.m. I had to walk to school, and I knew I was going to be late for homeroom. As I walked down the street I was so angry at myself for waking up late on the first day of school I almost didn’t hear a car next to me beep it’s horn. I quickly glanced over and saw a BMW approach me. I quietly gasped and my heart skipped a beat as I saw who was behind the wheel; Brett Anderson. Brett Anderson was Seaside High’s quarterback, as well as the class president. Brett was about 6’5 with short spiked blonde hair, and bright sky blue eyes. No wonder I had a crush on him! He was perfect!
“Hey Aislyn!” Brett called out to me
“Oh, hi!” I said out of breath
“Are you walking to school?” He asked curiously
“Yeah I’m on my w-”
“Your going to be late for homeroom if you walk, come on get in” He said while opening the passenger door.
“Thanks” I shyly said as I sat down in the passenger seat.
The rest of the 4 minute ride to school was silent, except for the rap radiating from Brett’s radio. We got to school at about 8:30 a.m., and I rushed off to homeroom. I looked at my schedule as I wandered through the 800 wing, and I winced at who I had for homeroom and 1st period biology; Mr. Peterson. I had heard from some of his previous students that he was really weird. After roaming the halls, I finally arrived at room 813. As I reluctantly opened the door, I knew this would be a “interesting” year.

Well... Like I said i'm not sure if I like it. Comment and tell me if you like it, or if i should change it a bit. Thanks!
